Leatt brace Nackenschutz
Das Neck Brace System ist eine leichte Konstruktion aus Karbon, Kevlar und glasfaserverstärktem Kunststoff, die teilweise mit einer weichen, schlagdämpfenden und hautfreundlichen Schaumstoffschicht überzogen ist.
Es wird wie ein Kragen um den Hals gelegt. Das Neck Brace stellt keine statische Verbindung zwischen Helm und Schulterpartie her, sondern liegt auf dem Oberkörper auf. Seine Wirkungsweise zeigt sich, sobald der Träger den Kopf nach vorne, hinten oder seitwärts bewegt. Die unter normalen Bedingungen benötigte Bewegungsfreiheit bleibt erhalten.
Die Möglichkeit der Überdehnung des Kopfes in die jeweilige Richtung (Hyperflexion, Hypertension, laterale Hyperflexion) wird jedoch deutlich verringert. Auch Verletzungen, die aus der Stauchung der Wirbelsäule durch Krafteinwirkung auf den Helm (axial loading) resultieren, können infolge der Abstützung der Helmunterkante am Nackenschutz vermindert werden.
